Days 16 & 17 – Carrion to Terradillos & Terradillos to Bercianos

On day 16, I walked from Carrion de los Condes to Terradillos de los Templarios.   This was about 17 miles.  It was great to say “HALFWAY THERE!”  Yes, I hit the halfway point.  You could feel a sense of accomplishment among all my friends and fellow pilgrims.  The weather was great.  There were some clouds and a slight breeze, which was a bit of a relief from the prior days.  In Terradillos, I stayed at a great Albergue, Los Templarios.  More modern than others that I have stayed at.  There were only three of us in twin beds and a bathroom.  Believe me, only have to share a bathroom with three people was a treat!

On day 17, I walked from Terradillos to Bercianos del Real Camino, a short 15 miles!  It was cooler and windier today.  Enough so that I had to wear a jacket all day.  Again, a great Albergue, La Perala.  It turns out they are owned by the same family as yesterday’s!  The last two Albergues have been the best I have stayed at on the trek.  I don’t think any of my friends are staying here, but the day is young and others may show up.

15 days of walking left.  God has blessed me with good legs, good feet and a good back.  I am sore, but doing well.  Thank you Tylenol!  Honey, I will be home soon.
